There is a sense in which the much ado about the president's latest adventure on Twitter is puzzling, not that his remarks about Morning Joe and Mika are anything less than contemptible. This is after all just Trump being Trump, crude, boorish, vindicative, without a trace of class, &c., as he has shown himself to be for as long as he has been a public figure. The tweets drew a groundswell of criticism from Republicans typically mum on the subject of Trump's questionable, shall we say, words and deeds. Even Paul Ryan was mildly critical, saying he does not think the comment was appropriate. Where have these people been?
